House of Paloma Opens in Mumbai, Blending Art and Cocktails

The city’s nightlife has a bold new addition with the launch of House of Paloma, a cocktail-forward bar that promises an immersive blend of food, design, and contemporary art.

The venture is helmed by long-time friends and co-founders Prathik Shetty, Chethan Hegde, and Samarth Shetty, who together bring nearly 15 years of hospitality expertise. Chethan is best known as the founder of Bengaluru’s iconic 1522, while Prathik and Samarth co-created The Reservoire, India’s largest cocktail bar that earned international recognition, including a spot in Tales of the Cocktail’s Top 10 Best Bars Asia-Pacific (2019).

“We wanted House of Paloma to feel like a mini museum — a space where cocktails and art come alive in equal measure. Inspired by Spain and Mexico, where the Paloma is more than just a drink but a cultural ritual, we reimagined it in a playful, approachable way,” said Prathik.

Spread across 2,900 sq. ft. and designed in collaboration with architect Sumessh Menon, the venue combines bold aesthetics with intimacy. The outdoor section, seating 42, channels breezy Latin vibes, while the interiors — marked by deep teals, fiery crimsons, and a private 15-seat dining room — create a dramatic contrast.

At the bar, Head Mixologist M. Sunil Prathab, alongside consultants Rahul Raghav and Karl Fernandes, curates a Latin-inspired menu. Standout cocktails include the Paloma 1950 (a tribute to its namesake), Caliente (a chili-spiced pour), and Don Pablo (a smoky blend with Patron Reposado and Palo Santo). Communal rituals such as the Arriba, Abajo, Al Centro, Pa Dentro shot add to the sense of celebration.

The kitchen, led by Chef Pranay Shinde with Consultant Chef Sombir Chaudary, mirrors the bar’s adventurous spirit. Highlights range from Amber Sweet Crunch with truffle cream and Crispy Eggplant Tacos with smoked pineapple salsa to mains like Tan Lobster Risotto and Grilled Chilean Seabass. Desserts stay bold with creations like the technicolor Cheesecake Swirl and indulgent Dark Bloom.

With seasonal installations, limited-edition menus, and inventive pairings, House of Paloma aims to keep guests coming back for new experiences.
